Cubs Place Pedro Strop On DL, Recall Pitcher Zac Rosscup

(CBS) -- The Chicago Cubs have placed pitcher Pedro Stop on the 15-day DL with a left groin strain and have called up Zac Rosscup from Triple-A Iowa.

This is the third stint with the Cubs this year for Rosscup, 25. The lefthander threw 2.2 scoreless innings in two appearances earlier this season.

Strop, 28, has made 15 relief appearances for the Cubs this season and has an 0-2 record and one save with a 4.97 ERA.
