Cubs Place David Ross On Family Medical Emergency List; Matt Szcur Called Up

(CBS) The Chicago Cubs placed catcher David Ross on the family medical emergency list Wednesday and recalled outfielder Matt Szcur from Triple-A Iowa.

The 38-year-old Ross is hitting .190 with seven RBI in 57 games with the Cubs this season. Szcur has played with the Cubs for 35 games this season, hitting .217 and eight RBIs.
