Cubs Move Advanced Class-A Team To Eugene

(CBS) The Cubs continue to juggle the organization's player development agreement mix. The upper Class-A team will now play in Eugene, Ore., of the Northwest League, leaving Daytona of the Florida State League after a long association with that franchise. The new contract in Eugene runs through 2016.
Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said Thursday that the club will look for the best facilities for their young players to prosper in at the minor league level.
The Eugene franchise most recently was an affiliate of the Padres.
It's the second affiliate move for the Cubs in as many days. On Thursday, they announced they're moving their Class-A squad from suburban Kane County to South Bend, Ind. Chicago had already re-upped its Triple-A deal with Iowa earlier in the week, an agreement that runs through 2018.
