Cubs Merch Walking Off The Shelves

(CBS) -- Sports World Chicago, right across the street from Wrigley Field, is buzzing with business.

"The Cubs are wildly popular," co-owner Brad Rosen says. "You'd think the Cubs won the Stanley Cup the way they're looking at Cubs stuff lately."

Rosen says at this time of year, they're usually clearing out their Cubs merchandise, but over the last week, he's had to order more.

Jerseys, hats, T-shirts and "W" flags are flying off the shelves.

Nancy Huttman from Philadelphia stopped in to buy some Wrigley Field merchandise, even though she's a Phillies fan.

"I'm buying some stuff for my kids and husband," she said. "Since we're not in it, I'll root for the Cubs."

In one corner of the store, the T-shirt presser was working overtime.

"I've probably custom-made more than a 100 (Jake) Arrieta jerseys in the last week," said Julius Murga, referring to the Cubs ace. "The enthusiasm, the city coming together as one, the energy behind it, is unreal. Haven't felt it in a long time."

Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and now Arrieta have jerseys that are the most popular.

"People are buying the W flags too, it's been crazy," Rosen said.
