Cubs' Jake Arrieta Honored As NL Player Of The Week

(CBS) Cubs ace Jake Arrieta has been honored as the National League Player of the Week after throwing his second career no-hitter last Thursday in a 16-0 win against the Reds.

Arrieta struck out six and walked four in his masterful 119-pitch effort, which moved him to 4-0 and dropped his ERA to 0.87. It was his second no-hitter in his past 11 regular-season starts. He'd also thrown a no-hitter against the Dodgers last Aug. 30.

The Cubs (14-5) have Monday off before hosting the Brewers (8-11) on Tuesday.
