Cubs Have Signed 10 Draft Picks, Including 5 Of Top 10

(CBS) The Cubs have signed 10 of their 40 picks in the amateur draft earlier this month, including five of their top 10.

The Cubs confirmed Thursday that they've signed first-rounder Ian Happ, an outfielder from Cincinnati. His signing was reported by multiple outlets earlier this week to be for a $3 million bonus, slightly below his ninth overall slot value of $3.35 million.

Round 5: Ryan Kellogg, LHP, Arizona State

Round 6: Dave Berg, RHP, UCLA

Round 7: Craig Brooks, RHP, Catawba College (N.C.)

Round 10: Vimael Machin, SS, VCU

Round 20: Blake Headley, 3B, Nebraska-Lincoln

Round 21: Jared Cheek, RHP, Georgia

Round 23: John Williamson, LHP, Rice

Round 25: Marcus Mastrobuoni, C, Cal. State University Stanislaus
