Cubs Fans Stock Up On Team Gear As Bar Owners Beef Up Security

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A day after their team's big win, Cubs fans like Vilmarie Rosario are on a mission to get their game-day gear.

"No better place to get them than right next to the stadium," she tells CBS 2's Sandra Torres.

She had been looking for a special shirt all day and found it at the Sports World Store in Wrigleyville on Wednesday, a day after the Cubs rallied to beat the Giants in Game 4 and advance to the National League Championship Series.

"I saw the shirts they wore after they won yesterday and me and my entire family were like, 'We need to go right now and get as much as we can,'" she said Wednesday.

Ed Avis was on a similar quest.

"What does a Cubs fan get after a big win?" he says. "The big W."

Outside the store, the rain made for a quiet day in Wrigleyville.

But David Strauss, co-owner of Sluggers on Clark Street, knows that won't be the case Saturday, when the Cubs host the Dodgers or Nationals in Game 1 of the NLCS.

"We've got security beefed up a little more," he says. "Occupancy is a huge issue."

And while the excitement is building up for what's to come, safety is on bar owners' minds.

"Everybody wants the Cubs to win, but do it the right way," Strauss says. "Party safely."
