Cubs' Edwards, White Sox's Bassitt, Montas Named Arizona Fall League All-Stars

(CBS) Top Cubs pitching prospect C.J. Edwards has been selected to play in the Fall Stars Game, while the White Sox will have two representatives in the Arizona Fall League's annual all-star game.

Right-handers Chris Bassitt and Francellis Montas will represent the South Siders as part of the West team. Edwards will play on the East squad. The game will be played Saturday night in Scottsdale, Ariz.

A 23-year-old right-hander, Edwards is 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA in three starts this fall. Edwards finished last season at Double-A Tennessee and is projected to be called up at some point in 2015 by MLB.com.

Bassitt, 25, is 1-1 with an 0.79 ERA in five appearances this fall. He appeared in six games for the White Sox this past season.

Montas, 21, is 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA in the Fall League. He's projected by MLB.com to reach the majors in 2016 after reaching Double-A Birmingham last season.
