Cubs Claim RHP Donn Roach Off Waivers

(CBS) The Cubs have claimed right-handed reliever Donn Roach off waivers from the Padres, they announced Wednesday, bringing their 40-man roster to 38 players.

The 24-year-old Roach was 1-0 with a 4.75 in 30 1/3 innings over 16 appearances for San Diego last season, his first in the big leagues. Roach was originally selected in the third round of the 2010 amateur draft by the Dodgers.
