Cubs' Chris Bosio Lauds Miguel Montero

(CBS) As the Cubs continue to weigh whether to carry three catchers on their 25-man postseason roster, pitching coach Chris Bosio on Wednesday lauded why one of them, veteran Miguel Montero, is so crucial for the team's pitching staff, including right-hander Kyle Hendricks, a Cy Young candidate.

"Miggy's one of the best framers in the game, especially at the bottom of the zone, where Kyle lives," Bosio said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "We're an up-tempo club. We like to dictate the tempo, whether it's pitching or hitting. You see all of my pitchers, especially the starters, working extremely fast and filling up the strike zone and trying to dictate the swings of the hitters, whether it's controlling bat speed or getting them to swing at pitches out of the zone.

"Miggy does a great job of keeping our guys going.
