Cubs Activate Welington Castillo From DL

(CBS) -- The Chicago Cubs activated Welington Castillo from the 15-day disabled list and have designated catcher Eli Whiteside for assignment.

The 27-year-old catcher has missed the last 20 days with left rib cage inflammation. Castillo is hitting .242 with five home runs and 21 RBI in 43 games.

Whiteside, 34, hit .120 with two RBI in eight games with the Cubs this season.
