Cubs' 40-Man Roster Trimmed As Raley, Marshall Lost To Waivers

(CBS) The Cubs lost pitchers Brooks Raley and Brett Marshall to waivers Wednesday, the Chicago Tribune reported.

That will help make room on the team's 40-man roster for the impending signing of starting right-hander Jason Hammel.

Marshall, was claimed off waivers by the Reds, while Raley was claimed by the Twins, the Tribune reported. Marshall never pitched for the Cubs. Raley appeared in 14 games over the past two seasons for Chicago.
