Cubs' 2017 Season Opener Against Cardinals Moved Up A Day, Into Primetime Slot

(CBS) The Cubs' season opener in 2017 against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium has been moved into the primetime slot on Sunday, April 2, according to the team's website.

The game will start at 7:35 p.m., with the reason being for national TV, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. The two teams had originally been scheduled to open the season on the afternoon of April 3. That will now become an off day, with the three-game series set to resume April 4.

The Cubs and Cardinals opened the 2015 season with a Sunday night game at Wrigley Field.
