CTA Soundtrack: Recordings Of Station Stops Available For Download

(CBS) -- By nature, Chicagoans are a nostalgic lot.

"Alisha33" and her husband are among them.

They are moving soon. "Alisha" posted on the Chicago Reddit page that her husband joked he will miss "the soundtrack" of the Red Line.

So, she asked, would there be a way to collect those automated recordings so she could play them endlessly on their long road trip to their new destination.

Well, yes, there is. Thanks to a website called Chicago L

The site has collected dozens of recorded L announcements, including some oldies from the days when conductors alerted riders of upcoming stops and other messages.

Here is a sampling:

To go along with the soundtrack, the CTA also provides full-length rides along its L lines, shot from inside the driver's car.
