Police Warn Of Robber Targeting CTA Passengers In Lincoln Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police were warning CTA riders about a series of early morning robberies on trains in Lincoln Park.

According to a community alert, a man has targeted passengers riding alone at the North/Clybourn and Fullerton stations.

Police said he robbed CTA riders on April 12 and April 21, taking their personal property by force.

CTA rider Faison Allen said he feels better that there are security cameras at stations and on trains.

"At the same time, you still got to be cautious, because it could be a camera, but by the time a person come up and do something, you could be gone in like two seconds," he said.

Allen said when he's out late at night, he walks faster to get where he's going, and always checks his surroundings, and doesn't wear headphones so he can pay attention to what's going on around him.

Police released photos of the suspect. Anyone with information about the suspect should call Chicago police.
