CTA Red Line service resumes after man falls onto tracks on Chicago's North Side

A man was struck by a CTA Red Line train after he accidentally fell onto the tracks early Wednesday morning. 

Red Line service between Howard and Belmont has resumed on Chicago's North Side by 6:15 a.m.

According to Chicago police, the man accidentally fell onto the tracks in the 1100 block of West Thorndale Avenue around 5:15 a.m.

Police said he was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. Police said his injuries were not immediately known.
