CTA Moving Closer To Full Conversion To Ventra

(CBS) -- Sunday marks another step in the CTA's conversion to the Ventra fare card, as riders will no longer be able to load money onto their magnetic strip cards or Chicago and Chicago Plus cards.

The CTA posted signs at Ventra machines and ran pre-recorded announcements warning riders of the change.

CTA rider John Devenney says he is still expecting some problems.

"People just don't think about things like that and then when it is here, they are like 'I don't want to use it' but they have to use it and rules are rules, but I think at first there is definitely going to be some confusion and complaining," said Devenney.

The old fare cards will still work until July 1.
