CTA to nearly double number of electric buses by 2025

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The CTA is going even greener.

The transit agency announced plans on Friday to nearly double its fleet of electric buses.

Nearly 22 new Proterra vehicles will be on the road by early 2025.

The CTA set a goal of converting its entire fleet to electric by 2040 as part of its Charging Forward program.
