CPD Official In Charge Of Professional Standards Is Leaving After Six Months

(CBS) – Anne Kirkpatrick is leaving the Chicago Police Department, to become police chief in Oakland, Calif.

She was once one of the finalists to replace Garry McCarthy when he was ousted as superintendent.

After the mayor chose Eddie Johnson to head the embattled department, Kirkpatrick was hired in June to head the Bureau of Professional Standards. She spent six months in the job.

The Chicago Police Department has faced increased scrutiny in the wake of high-profile officer-involved shootings.
