COVID-19 Patient Gets Double Lung Transplant After Being On Life Support

CHICAGO (CBS) -- While COVID-19 continues to take lives, there are also remarkable stories of survival. Roberto Rodriguez nearly died after contracting COVID-19.

The virus attacked his lungs, and he spent 130 days on life support.

Rodriguez received a double lung transplant and is now recovering. He is the eighth person to receive a double lung transplant at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
