Local Girl With Rare Condition Launches Blue Lip Kiss Challenge

CHICAGO (CBS) — In 2007, 4-year-old Cordelia Skuldt of the Northwest Chicago suburbs was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, a rare condition that causes abnormally high blood pressure in the lungs and difficulty breathing.

In this recent YouTube video Cordelia, now 11, says that approximately 30,000 Americans struggle with pulmonary hypertension.

To raise money and awareness for this potentially life-threatening disease, Cordelia has created the Blue Lip Kiss challenge. To participate, here's what you do:

1. Take a photo of yourself with blue lips.

2. Post your photo on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Instagram with the hashtags #PHaware and #bluelipkiss.

(Don't have blue lipstick? No big deal, just draw a photo or find another creative way to show your support.)

3. Visit the Blue Lip Kiss for PH Facebook page to learn more about pulmonary hypertension and donate.

4. Change your privacy settings to "public" for any Blue Lip Kiss challenge posts so Cordelia can tally the numbers.
