Cops Say They Shut Down Business After Finding Guns, Stolen Cars

(CBS) -- A stash of guns and possibly stolen cars were allegedly found at a West Garfield Park auto repair company.

Monday, police shut it down following an officer-involved shooting there over the weekend.

CBS 2's Charlie De Mar reports.

The auto shop and restaurant at Washington and Kilpatrick claims to do it all. But it added new signage Monday after Chicago police and the city's Department of Buildings shut it down.

Neighbor Kim Bester says she's surprised at the news. She says she's seen a lot of cars at the business.

But police say they found guns inside. Some of the flashy cars at the location could be stolen, they said.

Police raided the business after a tip. They shot and injured a suspect who allegedly pointed a gun at officers. Among the weapons recovered were high-powered guns, they said.
