Parolee Charged In Wrigleyville Business Burglaries

(STMW) -- A North Side parolee has been charged with burglarizing a Wrigleyville business twice this month.

Armando Vadillo, 51, is charged with two felony counts of burglary, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

Vadillo, who lives in the 3900 block of North Clark, is accused of entering a business in the same block through an air conditioning duct on two separate occasions, police said. The first break-in occurred at 1:25 a.m. May 20 while the second occurred at 2:05 a.m. Saturday.

The popular business Nuts on Clark is located at 3830 N. Clark St. It has been burglarized several times recently.

Officers secured a perimeter around the building Saturday and found Vadillo a short distance away, police said. They were able to identify him as the suspect in surveillance footage of both incidents.

Vadillo has a history of burglary convictions dating back to 1996, according to Illinois Department of Corrections records. Most recently, he was sentenced to 7 years in prison for a 2012 burglary conviction but was released on parole on Dec. 9, 2015.

He was ordered held without bond Saturday, according to a statement from the Cook County sheriff's office.
