Warming trend begins Sunday for Chicago area

A chilly night is ahead for the Chicago area before a mild and mostly sunny Sunday.

Patchy frost will start to develop overnight in parts of northwest Indiana, with La Porte County under a Frost Advisory until 7 a.m. Protect any sensitive plants from the chilly lows in the 30s tonight.

Sunday starts the mild temperature trend. Highs will climb towards 70 degrees with mostly sunny skies.

By Monday, highs will top out in the lower 80s, with 70s returning Tuesday.

Monday night into Tuesday, a storm risk will impact all of Chicagoland. There is a level 2 out of 5 on the risk scale for the possibility of strong to severe storms.

Storm chances will linger through early Tuesday with a few leftover showers during the day. Slightly cooler air settles in Wednesday through next weekend.
