Chicago Weather Alert: Over 33,000 ComEd customers experiencing power outages
CHICAGO (CBS) – High wind gusts and storms left thousands of ComEd customers experiencing power outages Saturday.
According to ComEd as of just before 5 p.m., more than 33,000 customers were affected by 1,548 outages due to Saturday's weather, which brought winds reaching up to 60 mph and storm warnings in 10 Illinois counties. A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m.
ComEd says it is continuing to monitor weather conditions, and crews are working to restore outages.
ComEd serves 4,064,853 customers in total, the company said Saturday.
