Colts Owner Irsay Arrested For Drunk Driving

CARMEL, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is in jail after being stopped on suspicion of drunken driving.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Department Deputy Bryant Orem says Irsay was arrested Sunday night in the northern Indianapolis suburb of Carmel.

Orem says the 54-year-old Irsay is being held Monday morning at the jail in Noblesville on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance.

Carmel police Lt. Joe Bickel says he can't immediately release details about the arrest because he is gathering information.

Irsay lives in Carmel. He became the Colts owner in 1997 after the death of his father, Robert Irsay.
