Closing Arguments Set For Man Accused Of Giving Niece Gun Used To Kill Girl, 14

(CBS) -- Closing arguments are scheduled today in the trial of a man accused of giving his niece a gun before she allegedly shot and killed a 14-year old girl.

CBS 2's Jeremy Ross takes a look at what led to the death and why the accused says his niece never should have had the gun.

This case begins with a case of online bullying and it ends with multiple lives changed forever.

The fate of one life could be determined as early as today.

Today closing arguments will be heard surrounding Donnell Flora.

He faces first degree murder and attempted murder charges in the 2014 shooting death of 14-year-old Endia Martin.

The accused testified Friday that he gave the gun to his niece to give to another relative.

Martin was shot and killed during an argument with several girls in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

They had reportedly been involved in a feud and harassment on Facebook about a boy for a couple of months.

The teen accused of shooting Martin is awaiting trial in juvenile court.
