Clearing Skies And Warmer Temps Through Mid-Week

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Sunshine and milder temperatures should return to the Chicago area early this week, but rain will become a factor from midweek through the weekend.

Monday started out gloomy in Chicago, but skies should gradually clear through the afternoon, bringing temperatures up into the low 50s for most of the area, except closer to the lake, where temperatures will be a bit cooler.

Tuesday should be sunny and milder, with a high in the upper 50s.

The first half of Wednesday should be sunny and pleasant again, but the afternoon brings chances for some showers and isolated thunderstorm. Heavier and more consistent storms likely will stay to the north in Wisconsin. Temperatures should reach the mid 60s.

Showers could linger on and off Thursday and Friday, as temperatures drop heading into the weekend, with a high in the upper 50s on Thursday, and the upper 40s on Friday. While the weekend should be on the cool side, it also should be sunny and dry.
