City Of Chicago, Police Reach Tentative Contract

(CBS) – The city has reached a tentative contract with the city's rank-and-file police officers.

Details of the agreement have not been released, but the new contract reportedly includes an 11 percent pay raise over five years.

Also, the contract would include a retroactive pay increase Mayor Emanuel once threatened to deny them in a dispute with the former head of the police union.

The Fraternal Order of Police wouldn't comment on specifics but says it plans to submit the agreement to its membership for ratification.
