Cicero School District 99 Passing Out Meals For Families In Need; Meal Pickup Wednesday

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Families from Cicero School District 99 were able to pick up three days worth of breakfast and lunch Wednesday morning.

Families showed up Wednesday at Columbus West Elementary to get their meals. Workers wore gloves and masks to pass out food.

A total of 13,000 kids attend District 99 schools and 95% are from low income households. This means many of the students are missing out on meals.

A mother of three told CBS 2 this is a stressful time. She said this free food means consistency for her kids.
