Chris Sale Takes 3rd In AL Cy Young Voting

(CBS) White Sox ace left-hander Chris Sale has finished third in the AL Cy Young race, trailing winner Corey Kluber of the Indians and runner-up Felix Hernandez of the Mariners.

Kluber had 169 points, Hernandez had 159 and Sale had 78.

Sale was brilliant all season, going 12-4 with a 2.17 ERA and 208 strikeouts in 174 innings over 26 starts. His WHIP was 0.97.

Hurting Sale's chances was a forearm injury that cost him more than a month early in the season. The other two finalists were sensational all year as well.
