Children Among 10 Injured In 3-Vehicle Crash On Dan Ryan

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two children were among 10 people injured in a three-vehicle crash early Tuesday on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

The crash happened about 12:35 a.m. in the inbound lanes of I-90/94 near 95th Street, according to Illinois State Police. Information on the circumstances of the crash was not immediately available.

Six people were taken to hospitals in serious-to-critical condition, while three more people were hospitalized in fair-to-serious condition, fire officials said. Police said a 10th person drove on their own to the hospital. Their ages and genders were not known.

Police said two children, a male and a female, were among the victims.

All inbound lanes of the expressway were temporarily closed, but reopened to traffic about 4:30 a.m., police said.
