Child Found Dead In Homer Glen Swimming Pool

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 17-month-old boy died Sunday evening after he was found dead in a swimming pool in southwest suburban Homer Glen.

David Garcia Jr., of Plainfield, was found unresponsive in the swimming pool in the 14000 block of South Erin Court in Homer Glen, according to the Will County coroner's office.

He was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where he was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, the coroner's office said. The preliminary results of an autopsy Monday were consistent with drowning.

Additional information was not immediately available as the Will County sheriff's office investigates.
