Dry air was in place Sunday night that the storm will have to overcome as it moves in on Monday. The storm will drag moisture from the Gulf of Mexico into our region Monday evening.

Lakeside flurries are possible through the day on Monday, but the system snow will start to accumulate as the sun sets Monday.

Winds will also increase throughout the day out of the northeast with gusts to 40 mph. This will create high waves and lake-enhanced snow through Tuesday.

The heaviest snow timeframe is expected to be Monday evening through midnight. Snowfall rates of one inch per hour are possible during that time.

Snow totals are expected to reach 5 to 8 inches. Waves could reach 10-12 feet.
