Chicago Weather: Rain Returns

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The low Wednesday night is 54 with partly cloudy conditions.

Cool winds off the lake and rain increasing throughout the day on Thursday.

Quite the spread of temperatures is in store for daytime highs. North shore areas will struggle in the lower 50s, while far south we could reach well into the 70s.

We are watching the storm track to see if thunderstorm chances materialize for the late day and evening hours, mainly south of I-80. It depends on how far north the warm air will reach.

Chilly winds will blow off the lake Friday with a soaking rain. Highs lakeside may only top out in the upper 40s.
