CHICAGO (CBS) -- Cold rain increases after 2 a.m.
The best coverage is expected from daybreak to noon Tuesday, with areas along and south of I-80 expected to receive the most rain. Half an inch is likely there.
Morning showers taper off to widely scattered sprinkles in the afternoon.
A chilly lake breeze lingers, keeping temps in the 40s.
It will be colder than normal for a while. The average high is 67 degrees.
The Climate Prediction Center 6- to 10-day outlook, beginning Mother's Day, locks the chilly pattern in place.
