Chicago Weather: Thunderstorms Possible Monday Afternoon, Night

CHICAGO (CBS)-- There is a threat for strong to severe thunderstorms Monday night.

Monday's high temperatures will be near 74 degrees with thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

There is an increased risk of tornado, hail with strong winds as storms move in around 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Southern areas are at a greater risk for strong storms. The National Weather Service is likely to issue storm watches and possibly warnings later today.

Storms should clear by midnight.

CBS 2 meteorologists will provide updates on any warnings in the Chicago area.

After a stormy start to the week, the rest of the week will be much cooler with high temperatures in the 50s and 60s.
