Chicago Weather: Sunny Day; Rain, Snow Mix Possible Monday Night; 1-2 Inches Possible Near Rockford

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Rainy and snowy conditions are ahead.

Monday will be a mostly sunny day with temperatures in the mid 40s. By the evening, a rain and snow mix moves into the area with small accumulation possible.

It starts around 4 a.m. and could fall at a moderate rate at times. Expect perhaps a coating to a half inch at O'Hare Airport, but we could see an inch or two in areas far northwest of Chicago near Rockford, where it will be colder.

As we go through the day on Tuesday the temps will warm and it all changes to rain by about 9 a.m. Many areas will see a slushy accumulation on the pavement.

Rain continues on Wednesday with thunderstorms possible as warmer air comes into the area. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 50s.
Mostly sunny skies are expected on Thanksgiving with high temperatures in the low 50s.
