Chicago Weather: Strong Cold Front On The Way

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A strong cold front crosses our area around daybreak Friday, opening the door for stiff north/northeast winds and unseasonably cold air.
The high winds will create high waves of 5 to 10 feet along the Illinois shoreline, and waves of 8 to 13 feet for the Indiana shores.
Look for midday sprinkles and flurries Friday.
There is a lakeshore flood threat all day for all areas, but the strong northerly winds last later into the night for the Indiana shoreline.
The core of cold air moves in late Friday night, leaving a freeze threat into Saturday morning.
A Freeze Watch is in effect late Friday night into Saturday morning, with lows around 32 degrees and the upper 20s in inland areas.
