Chicago Weather: Springtime Snow, Slick Conditions
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Chicago areas are experiencing snowfall and strong winds with temperatures in the 30s Sunday.
CBS 2 meteorologist Ed Curran says some areas can expect one to two inches of snow. Northern areas could see small snow accumulation on roads or cold, elevated surfaces.
Snow is melting quickly, but Curran says the accumulation depends on the ground temperature.

Winds could reach 17 to 33 miles-per-hour and thunder is possible southwest of Chicago. Sunday night, temperatures are expected to drop to 27 degrees.
2:20 p.m. Flight Cancellations
As of 2:30 p.m. Sunday, 748 flights have been canceled at O'Hare International Airport, and 81 flights have been canceled at Midway Airport.
1:15 p.m. Highway Accidents
ISP has reported responding to 50 crashes due to snow since 6 a.m. on I-88, I-294, I-355, I-390 and I-90.
1 p.m. Winter Weather Advisory
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. Sunday for Winnebago, McHenry, DeKalb, Kane and La Salle counties as well as Rockford, Dixon, Aurora, Elgin and Ottawa.
12:50 p.m. Highways
State police said between 7 a.m. and noon, troopers responded to 30 to 40 calls for service on I-57 and I-80 due to slick roads.
12:45 p.m. Salt Trucks
According to the City of Chicago, 75 salt trucks have been deployed to assist with the slick conditions.
