Chicago Weather: 90s Return Thursday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- After the low drops to 58 under clear skies Wednesday, southwest winds will open the door for a hot air mass to head our way on Thursday.

The high for Thursday is 90. No lakefront cooling is expected.

Humidity increases with the heat, especially for Friday.

A storm complex will form over Wisconsin Thursday night and bring a fast-moving line of thunderstorms to our area very early Friday morning. Damaging winds and heavy rain will accompany the strongest cells.

Right now, the timing looks to be about 3 a.m. to 8 a.m., but that may change.

Later Friday, it will be hot and humid with a high of 92.

Summer begins on Sunday, Father's Day. We have a 40 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon with highs around 90.
