Chicago Weather: Snow Could Be Coming Early Tuesday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Scattered flurries are possible Tuesday morning with a weak disturbance moving across northern Illinois.

Some peeks of sun are possible during the day before a secondary front moves in after dark. This second front could bring a better chance for flurries.

The evening frontal passage opens the door for a much colder air mass for Wednesday. Average high is 31 degrees, so we will spend Wednesday below average.

But the cold is only with us for one day, because on Thursday, CBS 2 Meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist expects rain, wind, and warmer temperatures with highs close to 50 degrees.

We have warmer temperatures, with a few rain showers, on Friday as well. We'll actually climb into the 40s once again.

Our attention then turns to the weekend and the possibility for a wintry mix or even accumulating snow from Friday night to Saturday night. We'll keep a close eye on this system as we approach the weekend.
