Chicago Weather: Snow Coming Friday Night

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Winter Weather Advisory Friday goes into effect on night as snow moves in.

We have the Arctic air in place, and now we're waiting for the moisture to move in with the approaching storm.

Snow showers meet the evening rush with heavier snow bands from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday. After midnight and into Saturday morning, mild air moves in from the south changing the snow to rain for our southern communities.

The best chance for accumulating snow will be closer to the Wisconsin state line. South of I-80, it's a slushy mix with ice accumulation possible due to the warmer air over-riding the disturbance.
