Chicago Weather: Scattered Showers And Thunderstorms Sunday Evening

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Conditions were mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday evening, and more showers were expected late Sunday night.

Late on Sunday afternoon, sudden storms overwhelmed some Chicago viaducts. The flooding caught several drivers off guard at the viaduct at 47th Street and Normal Avenue, forcing them to ditch their cars and wade out into knee-deep water.

Driving was also a bit dicey along the Kennedy Expressway. It did not rise to the level of actual flooding at Hubbard's Cave, but cars splashed their way through the rainwater.

The low Sunday night is in the middle 60s.
