Chicago Weather: Rain Showers Thursday Afternoon

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Look for dry conditions to start the day Thursday after the low drops to 31 Wednesday night.

Light rain develops in the afternoon Thursday, changing to snow by sunset.

Temperatures will be above freezing all day, so minor snow amounts expected. But the wintry mix could slow down the evening rush.

The high for Thursday is 39.

The upper-level part of the system will scatter snow showers on Friday. Right now, snow amounts through Friday evening could range from a dusting to 2 inches in the far northwest suburbs.

The high for Friday is 34.
