Chicago Weather: Mostly Hot And Sunny; Scattered Storms Bring Rain, Cooler Temps For Some

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A hot and steamy weekend is ahead for Chicago, with a few storms bringing cooler temperatures and much-needed rain to some areas away from the lake.

OVERVIEW

A few showers and thunderstorms developed away from the lake this afternoon, bringing much-needed rain to a lucky few, and providing a brief cool-down.

Those storms prompted a severe thunderstorm warning for DeKalb County from about 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., but those storms have since weakened and dissipated, and no other severe weather alerts are in effect.

Otherwise, most locations are hot and sunny.

Tonight:

Mostly clear. Isolated storm. Low 70.
