Chicago Weather: Snow Turning To Rain For Friday Morning Commute

CHICAGO (CBS) -- This wintry system will persist for about 48 more hours before we're done with it for good.

Snow was changing to rain on Thursday night, but was expected to continue for most of the area.

Some scattered snow showers may be left in far northwest suburban areas as the low drops to 32.

The morning commute should be mostly rain. Temperatures will reach upper 30s to near 40.

For the late evening commute, rain may change back to snow far west of the city.

This may lead to some minor accumulation Friday night – amounting to 1 to 3 inches for those areas.

On Saturday, scattered snow showers will continue through afternoon. While there may be some minor accumulation from the snow showers, significant accumulation isn't expected

Mostly cloudy skies are expected for most of Sunday through Thursday of next week, with a few flurries possible Tuesday.
