Chicago Weather: Cold Monday Night And Tuesday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Lake-effect snow is expected for parts of LaPorte County, Indiana Monday night.

Snow bands could set up across Porter county as well.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 8 a.m. in LaPorte County, while a winter weather advisory continues until 6 a.m. in Porter County.

A lakeshore flood warning is in effect for the Indiana shoreline until noon Tuesday, and for the Cook County shoreline until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The low for Monday night is 24.

On Tuesday, the pattern changes as the main storm center pulls away and winds can subside a bit.

Cold air stays locked in place through Tuesday. Wind chills will be in the teens from Monday night through noon Tuesday.

It will be chilly all Tuesday afternoon, even with sunny skies. The high for Tuesday is 38.

Milder weather is ahead after this system departs. The high for Wednesday climbs to 45.
