Chicago Weather: Snow Coming Wednesday Night

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Clouds keep increasing Tuesday night ahead of our next weather system.

Southwest wind flow will boost temps into the low to mid-30s Wednesday. Snow starts Wednesday night, especially after 10 p.m.

This system is cut off from the jet stream, so it will wobble a bit and slow down in forward speed.

At times, we can expect trends of long lasting light snow, mainly Wednesday night through Thursday morning and again with sunset Thursday night into Friday morning.

Rain showers mix in during both days due to the warmer temperature profiles. We should reach the mid- to upper 30s the next several days.

For the first part of the event, we could see 1 to 3 inches of snow by Friday morning.

Some wraparound snow showers are possible for the morning hours on Saturday before the system finally pulls away from our area.
