Chicago Weather: Rain Chance Through Midnight

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A disturbance passing to our north is keeping showers and possible thunderstorms around through midnight.

Fog is likely to drop visibility in the morning.

It will be windy and warm Tuesday with highs in the lower 70s. Thunderstorm chances develop in the afternoon and linger into the evening.

Severe weather is a possibility unless the morning fog and cloud cover linger well into the midday hours, and if we get a flow off the chilly lake, that would not allow the warm front to make it up here, keeping the severe threat south of us.

On the other hand, if the warm front makes it to Wisconsin all areas warm up, instability would be higher with strong storms likely.
